| ACCEPTED AMENDMENTS FROM THE OPPOSITION AND THE GOVERNMENT ON THE FINAL DRAFT OF THE LUSTRATION LAW |
Today’s edition of the Macedonian daily “Vest” reported on Andov’s statement: “We can not blame the opposition that it wants to block the adoption of the law. I believe that they too want a good law” (http://www.vest.com.mk/default.asp?id=135977&idg=7&idb=2082&rubrika=Makedonija)
With an amendment of his own, the initiator offered compromise, according to which, if there is not two third majority when electing the first proposal of the committee’s members, in the second phase the election is to be made with qualified majority, that is with majority of the total number of members of Parliament.
President Andov also accepted an amendment of the Government according to which the Lustration Law is to treat the period 1944-2000.
